Can persuasive speeches be sarcastic?

i would think doing the whole thing in a sarcastic manner will go over a lot of people's heads and you'll come across as a ranting nazi and the persuasion will be lost but there's always room for sarcasm and irony hell they're the cornerstones of british humour but be careful how you use it and try and make sure your sarcasm comes across, otherwise as i said people will think your pro nationalism...so imo the answer is no not totally
