I have to pick a favourite character in The Catcher in the Rye. Whose your favourite character?

I suppose you can't choose Holden...but he is the obvious choice...as he hurtles painfully towards the edge of his cliff of depression and self-disgust...he influences our perceptions of all the other characters. Without his pervasive summaries we would probably not be too concerned about Stradlater's dirty habits...but as it is we too feel a loathing for someone who is actually just a 'regular guy'...in fact we start to be repulsed by humanity in general and at once touched by it at the same time. A terrible catharsis..bit like Hamlet really.
