I want to change my middle name..?

What are the legal steps of doing this? Also I heard that I have to tell a judge at a courthouse why I want to change my middle name, do I honestly have to do this as it would be embarring..BTW I am in the katy, Texas location if that is any help. Also, if you must know my middle name is Aaron which is the same as Elvis's middle name. Although my dad did not know the spelling was different. My dad is obsessed with elvis which makes things worse. So I want to change my middle name to Griffin which is my mothers family name.
