What is the definition of man?

ok I'm doing an Ap English 3 paper that I need some help on. It's a definitional argument research paper my topic is "Should human genetic engineering be allowed?" My teacher told me to do the definition of man he also told me that definitions are man made, naw duh, and that definitions change over time. These are our Requirements: A clear claim involving a question of definition, Establishing a general definition acceptable to readers, Examination of ur claim in terms of the accepted defi. & all of its conditions, Evidence for every part of the argument, Consideration of alternative views and counterarguments, such as any objections that a reader might have to the claim criteria or evidence or to the way the definition is formulated, Use of the Toulmin schema to articulate ur argument(chptr 8 in everything's an argument), Identification of a specific audience to which you will be arguing & consideration of how ur awareness of that audience informs ur definitional argument, and A conclusion of ur argument that explains the implications of ur def. argument...........anyway I have somewhat of an idea of what i want to do but i just don't understand how do do it, if that makes any sense so can someone please help me
