Whammy bar problem on my brand new strat, help!?

I just bought a brand new stratocaster, and for some reason whenever i use the whammy bar it makes like a clicking sound. and whats worse is that my amp is picking up the clicking sound. im pretty sure its the springs but im not positive. at first i just thought the springs needed to be broken in cuz its brand new but ive been using the whammy bar alot and its still clicking. anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? and how to fix it...
